Contents of Happy Valley Farms and The Judd Collection
All Lots are available online on our bidding platform.
Happy Valley Farms, multi-generational homestead of the Hutcheson family, served as a local dairy for many years before becoming the one of country's most prominent breeders and trainers of American Saddlebred horses. The family home, a 1930s Colonial Revival mansion, housed fine antique furnishings and decorative arts, including an important collection of porcelain bird models from Dorothy Doughty, Boehm, and others. There are suberb examples of early American and Georgian furniture, notably a George III breakfront made for the Earl of Roseberry.
The Judd Collection offers an heirloom collection of Asian decorative arts. Jane Judd Deck, notable resident of Whitfield and Walker counties, inherited the collection from her parents. Her father and mother, a successful industrialist and missonary of the early 1900s, made many trips to China for business and mission work. Collection includes fine examples of porcelain from the Qing dynasty.
Auction also features other private southern collections of Fine European and Continental Furnishings with comparable Accessories including Silver, Paintings, Porcelains, Bronzes, and Works of Art. Including Oriental Rugs & Estate Jewelry.
